Mr. Gibbons came to San Diego in 2013.  Art for Wildlife Galleries was his first Gallery, and his Starfish and Starfish Clusters were huge hits, and loved by all.  Now back in No. CA, with 4 children, including twin 3 year old boys, his success comes at a very opportune time!

John Gibbons grew up in Northern California, encouraged in the Arts by his father, a painter and collector of glass. He officially began his study of glass in 2003, and went on earn his BFA in Glass from CA State University, Chico. Upon graduation, his first job was with Harmony Glass Works in Cambria, CA.

He has studied in Murano, Italy and in Czechoslovakia. In 2013, we was accepted into Dale Chihuly’s Pilchuck School in Tacoma, WA. This is a serious feather in his cap! In 2015 he moved back to Northern California to open a hot glass shop, where he continues to create his beautiful glass pieces, and enjoy his Artistic success.

Mr. Gibbons is most known for his Ocean Series, which includes the individual “Escaping Starfish” which hang over an edge, starfish clustered together in the shape of a crown (“Clusters”), and sea turtles riding optical waves and more. Glass is John’s love, and it shows!
