Richard Satava was introduced to glassblowing in 1969 while at Ocean High School in Pacfica, CA. He subsequently studied art and glassblowing art at the College of San Mateo and California State University in Chico. In 1977 he established his own Northern California glass studio:  Satava Art Glass. Since that time, he has created art glass that captures the beauty and wonder of Nature, from the ocean to the mountains. Each handblown piece created at Satava Art Glass Studio is an original design by Richard Satava, a master glassblower, and individually crafted by carefully combining the highest degree of technical skills and artistic creativity.

Widely know for both vases with brilliant vivid colors and jellyfish sculptures with an ethereal, translucent nature, his works are included in numerous public and private collections throughout the world, including the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC and the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.

Art for Wildlife Galleries has an incredible selection of his Jellyfish Magnums, his stunning Double Jellyffish Magnums, his lidded Vases, and many other unreal pieces of Art Glass. Call with questions: 619-435-4342.
