Troy Doney has been photographing since he was 16 years old. He inherited his first film camera, a Minolta X-700, from his grandfather.
Though his subjects vary widely from landscapes to portraits, his true passion is animals.
This is a good thing, because his wife Sarah works with horses in Rancho Sante Fe, CA and aspires to be an Olympian Equestrian.
These horses were photographed at night using a single light source. The black background occurs naturally. These pieces are giclees on canvas, gallery wrapped, and a frame is not required to hang and enjoy.
